Admission Requirements
- Students in their 2nd year of EPO’s integrated preparatory classes
- Orientation based on choice and merit
- Quota set annually by the administration
- Students from preparatory classes
- Holders of BTS, DUT, or DTS diplomas
- Students with a scientific bachelor’s degree
- Students selected based on application
- Enrollment numbers determined each year by the Director General’s decision

History and missions
Ecole Polytechnique de Ouagadougou (EPO) is a higher education institution in Burkina Faso, established in October 2017. It was founded with the goal of training highly qualified professionals in science and technology fields, in order to contribute to the industrial development and technological self-sufficiency of Burkina Faso.
EPO's Missions
- Train design engineers and PhDs in engineering sciences and technologies.
- Contribute to scientific research and innovation, focusing on the country's socioeconomic development priorities.
- Promote expertise for the benefit of both the public and private sectors.
- Become a regional center of excellence by training engineers capable of sustainably supporting Burkina Faso’s economy.
Training Programs
Preparatory Classes for Engineering Studies (CPEI): Accessible after the baccalaureate, this program prepares students for the rigorous demands of engineering studies.
Engineering Program: Composed of five specialties:
- Industrial Engineering
- Textile Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Telecommunications Engineering
- Civil Engineering
Admission to EPO is through a competitive examination reserved for the best students from the scientific and technological series C, E, and D.
First Class of Engineers
The first class of engineers from EPO graduated on September 27, 2024. This class, named “Faso Djigui” (Hope of the People), includes 29 engineers distributed as follows:
The graduation ceremony was attended by the President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly, representing the President of Faso, as well as the Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.
